What do you consider to be your businessā€™ most important asset?

(If you donā€™t think itā€™s your health, think again)

Whatever the size of your business, you are its CEO.  And as the CEO, most likely you have plans to manage risk when it comes to your business’ assets.

But, what about you?

As the business owner, you are the asset that must be cared for before any other in your business.

That’s why I call you Asset Zero.

YOU are where everything starts.

I know how it goes: you rarely think about yourself and instead you pour everything you have into your business. You never clock out. You push, and push, and then push some more. On any given day, you are juggling commuting, deadlines, customers… you name it.  There’s never enough time. There’s always something to do and everything needs to be done … yesterday.

So, when it comes to thinking about you and your health, it’s easy to start to let things go.

  • Who has time to get sick?
  • I can never leave work, how can I go see a doctor?
  • If I just to get to the other side of this project, I will start dealing with my health…
I get it. For fifteen years, I lead a global organization within a large company.

There was constant pressure to deliver results, develop high performing teams, and manage suppliers.  When my husband was diagnosed with cancer, I left my job to care for him and run his business until he got better.

Once my husband got better, he returned to the business and we continued to work together.  We launched a second company. I was in charge of writing the business plan and lining up potential investors.  I just kept pushing myself - at work, at home, in my community. I became more and more exhausted.  And I ignored the toll it was taking on my body.

And on the day of the meetings with the investors?  I was too sick to get out of bed to meet with them.

I had no other choice but to step away from our business as I had become a liability.

Are you at risk of becoming a liability to your business?

Let me guess:

  • You skip lunch and end up eating take out sometime later.
  • You survive on 4-5 hours of sleep a night.
  • You stopped the hiking, biking and weekend ski or fishing trips. Even getting in a round of golf seems like hard work.
  • You ignore warning signs that you need to take better care of yourself, and work through bronchitis, injuries and grief.
Here’s what I see with most people I work with:
  • You’re worn out.
  • You’re exhausted.
  • You’re running on empty.

If you can’t show up to work every day feeling well, how are you going to show up when the stakes are high?

Does any of this sound familiar?

You put so much into your business, at times sacrificing your health and personal life.

Here’s what happens when Asset Zero is out of balance:

  • It gets more difficult to maintain or grow your business
  • Relationships suffer – be it with your spouse, children, friends
  • You lack the energy to get outdoors and do the things you love

Without a plan, Asset Zero—you, just like me —can start to become a liability to your business.

Imagine How Good You Would Feel If You Could ...

  • Wake up and feel energized and excited about the day ahead of you?
  • Have steady energy throughout the day to succeed in business and still have energy to do things you love?
  • Lose the brain fog and nagging digestive complaints?

As your Functional Nutrition Practitioner, I’m here to help you feel and look well again. Because, when you feel well, good things happen to you – in your career, in your relationships and in every other area of your life.
